About the College
Nandha Engineering College (NEC), established in 2001 under the Nandha Engineering Trust, has been a beacon of quality education and societal leadership. Founded by Thiru V. Shanmugan, Chairman and Managing Trustee, the institution is driven by a mission to impart value-based education. Affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, NEC holds accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and achieved autonomous status in 2013, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering began in 2001 with an initial intake of 60 undergraduate students. A postgraduate program (M.E.) was introduced in 2008 with 12 students. Today, the department serves over 700 students and is accredited by NBA and recognized as a Research Centre by Anna University, Chennai. It has 26 highly qualified faculty members dedicated to student development. The curriculum is updated every six months with industry and alumni feedback to meet professional expectations.
The syllabus aligns with the GATE curriculum, preparing students for competitive exams like UPSC (IAS) and GATE. The department boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, including modern laboratories, classrooms, and seminar halls. It is expanding globally through industry and academic collaborations. Special labs in Mobile App Development, Data Science, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Networks, and Intelligence Computing support student growth in industrial environments.
The college promotes extracurricular activities, encouraging students to showcase their talents through various clubs. Personality and character development clubs like Tree Plantation Club, Music Club, Dance Club, Trekking, and Photography Club are available, making student participation mandatory in at least one club. Additionally, technical clubs such as Open Source Club, Multimedia Club, and Robo Club nurture students' technical skills.
